Qld: Police call for public help to find missing man

BRISBANE, Aug 21 AAP - Police are appealing to the public for information into a missing
Gold Coast man feared murdered.

Blood and a knife were found at a Mount Warren Park landscaping supply centre on Thursday
where Brian Bathgate lives.

The 55-year-old was reported missing by his son and employees on Thursday morning.

Police are also trying to find his car, a 2005 Toyota ute with registration number Brian 5.

Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson told reporters on Thursday he held grave
concerns for the man's safety but it was too early to call it a murder investigation.
