VIC: 107,000 Victorian students to sit LAP tests today

More than 107,000 Victorian primary school students will sit Learning Assessment Project
tests in maths, history and geography this morning .

The tests will be taken by almost all years three and five students in the state's
government schools as well as 393 Catholic and 99 independent schools.

Board of Studies chairman Professor KWONG LEE DOW says the results of the tests will
provide valuable information to parents, teachers and schools on literacy and numeracy
standards.

Tests in English reading and writing will be conducted tomorrow.

Parents will receive their children's results during the week starting October 4.
